If you are unable to access your myNSFAS account due to a change in your details then you may need to restore your account, here's how to do so.

If you are a NSFAS-funded student then you will have a myNSFAS account which you would have created in order to apply for the bursary.

Students are required to use an email address or cellphone number to create their myNSFAS accounts, but if your details have changed then you may not have access to your account and you will have to restore it.

MYNSFAS Login

You can restore your myNSFAS account by doing the following:

  • Go to NSFAS websitehttps://www.nsfas.org.za/content/
  • Click on the 'myNSFAS' icon at the top right corner of the screen
  • Click on the 'Forgot Password' icon
  • Enter your ID number and verify
  • Complete the questions that follow.

Students must attach a copy of their ID during this process and once they have completed all of the steps then they will receive a reference number.

NSFAS will then send a communication via email or SMS to the student which will confirm that the myNSFAS account has been successfully approved.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a government bursary who provides tertiary funding for South African students who are financially disadvantaged and plan on studying at public universities or TVET colleges.

NSFAS Bursary

The NSFAS bursary covers registration, tuition and provides students with various allowances. These allowances cover transport, living expenses and learning materials.
