SASSA has arranged a way to appeal for applicants whose 350 SRD grant has been declined due to UIF registration. This is how you can go about processing your appeal instead of visiting the labour department.

Visit https://srd.sassa.gov.za and provide the following information:

  • Identity Number or Department of Home Affairs Refugee permit number
  • Name and Surname as captured in the Identity Document
  • Gender and Disability
  • Contact details - Cell phone number
  • Residential Address

You will also have to sign a declaration and consent form confirming the validity of the information you have provided, as it will be shared with other organisations and financial institutions such as SARS and banks. A detailed declaration and consent document is available on the website.

Applicants will also have to confirm their existing application once via the Sassa website or the WhatsApp number: 082 046 8553.

Once the appeal is lodged, SASSA will verify your employment status with the UIF and the outcome will be communicated.

Applicants are also encouraged to contact SASSA on their Toll-Free number 0800 60 10 11 and not to visit labour centres for assistance on this matter.
