Exam season for any student in High School can be extremely daunting, but it can be argued that grades 10-12 students may be presented with the most stress when it comes to exam performance.
The Department of Basic Education has a number of these past papers, ranging between each subject for grades 10-12 starting from 2008. To access these past papers, click here.
Preparing for an exam season takes quite a lot of effort. By grade 10, the student might already have an idea of what study method works best for them. These study methods could include;
- Learning visually through the aid of diagrams and pictures
- Auditory learning through listening to things such as recordings
- Learning whilst being active and associating the study concepts with different movements or actions
- Learning through reading and writing your own sets of notes to retain information
If a student is not yet aware of their study style, all it takes is a bit of trial and error. A student may even find that they may study using a combination of methods, which is perfectly acceptable.
Even with study methods in place, students tend to find it useful to practice using past exams so that they can time themselves and test their capabilities using previous examinations that tend to mimic their own exams.
