This is your chance to gain hands-on experience in one of the most dynamic areas of the finance industry, working alongside experienced professionals in sales, trading, equity financing, and structured solutions.

What the UBS Internship Offers

As an intern with UBS’s Global Markets Distribution team, you’ll work at the intersection of financial markets and client advisory services. This internship is designed to provide real-world exposure to various sales disciplines including:

  •     Advisory services
  •     Cash equities and derivatives
  •     Structured investment solutions
  •     Equity financing

Interns will gain practical experience by:

  •     Shadowing professionals as they advise clients on market trends and execution strategies
  •     Assisting in creating presentations and insightful market updates
  •     Analyzing market data to generate actionable client insights
  •     Collaborating with product specialists, trading desks, and operations
  •     Building networks with a diverse client base including hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds, and corporates

Where You’ll Work

You’ll join UBS’s Global Markets team in South Africa, a high-performance environment where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and client-centricity are at the heart of everything. With direct support from experienced mentors and industry leaders, you’ll gain the skills and exposure needed to build a successful career in financial markets.

Who Should Apply?

UBS is seeking students or recent graduates who are:

  •     In their penultimate or final year of study, or recently completed an Honours or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or STEM disciplines
  •     High academic achievers with a strong interest in financial markets
  •     Skilled in analysis, numerical reasoning, and communication
  •     Proactive learners who thrive in team environments and show strong interpersonal skills
  •     Commercially minded with a client-focused attitude
  •     Familiarity with the South African financial markets is a bonus
