The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is inviting unemployed graduates to apply for our Sassa Internship Programme.

SASSA Head Office Internship Programme 2026: Apply Now

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has opened applications for its Head Office Internship Programme, aimed at unemployed graduates across South Africa who are looking to gain valuable workplace experience in the public sector.

The internship programme is offered on a 24-month contract and provides successful candidates with hands-on training at SASSA’s Head Office. Interns will receive a monthly all-inclusive stipend of R7 860.50.

Available Internship Opportunities

Internal Audit (2 Posts)
Qualification required: National Diploma, Advanced Diploma (B-Tech) or Degree (NQF Level 6 or 7) in Internal Audit.

Information and Communication Technology (3 Posts)
Qualifications required: National Diploma, B-Tech or Degree (NQF Level 6 or 7) in Information and Communication Technology, Library Information Science or Project Management.

• Library Information Sciences (1 Post)

• EPMO – Change Management (1 Post)

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen
• Be between 18 and 35 years old
• Be unemployed
• Meet the qualification requirements for the specific internship applied for

Important Information

All appointments are subject to compulsory pre-employment screening, including qualification verification, ITC checks and criminal checks. Successful candidates will also undergo compulsory security vetting.

Applicants with foreign qualifications must ensure that their qualifications are evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) before the selection process.

SASSA reserves the right not to fill a post after advertising it.

• Certified copies of your Identity Document or Smart ID
• Certified copies of your qualifications
