We have all the information you need on the South African Social Security Agency, Sassa, and the social grants that they pay out on behalf of the government.


Millions of individuals benefit from the Social Relief of Distress SRD grant and the biometric confirmation system has been compulsory for the last two years. Here are the details on the biometric system. 


SASSA is advertising for a wide range of internships that are open now. These opportunities provide workplace training and experience - and come with a monthly stipend payment. 


Internships are available with Sassa. These Sassa internships pay R7,860 per month and we have the details on what they are and how to apply. 


All SASSA beneficiaries must submit biometric information to confirm their accounts.  The organisation has reminded all grant beneficiaries that if they have problems submitting the information they can visit a local office. 


Millions of people are set to receive Sassa grant payments next month and Sassa has now released the payment dates for December 2025.

SASSA has announced a small increase to social grants from October 2025, providing extra support to millions of beneficiaries across South Africa.


Millions of South Africans receive financial assistance through various types of grants provided by the state each month. If you have applied for the R350 grant for the month of September, you’d be happy to know payments have commenced!


Millions of people are eligible for Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant payments and submit R370 grant applications monthly. If you are approved for September 2025, you will then start receiving SRD grant payments.


SASSA had to answer questions from MPs in parliament but they were confident that they had addressed nearly all of their financial problems - but did admit that some problems remain.
