About The Implats Refineries Bursary Programme
The Implats Refineries Bursary Programme is a full-time tertiary bursary for students who will begin their studies during the 2027 academic year. The programme is managed by the company's Human Resources Talent Management department and supports students studying qualifications that are critical to the refinery's operations.
Fields Of Study Funded
The bursary is available to students who intend to study one of the following NQF Level 7 degree programmes:
- Electrical Engineering (preferably Heavy Current)
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering
- Chemistry
Benefits Of The Implats Bursary
Successful applicants will receive financial assistance to help cover the cost of their studies. This includes funding for tuition fees, accommodation and study materials.
In addition to financial support, bursary recipients will have the opportunity to complete vacation work at Implats Refineries during the December and January holidays, allowing them to gain valuable practical experience while building skills for future employment.
Implats Refineries Bursary Requirements
To qualify for the bursary, applicants must:
- Be currently in Grade 12.
- Achieve at least 60% (Level 5) in Mathematics.
- Achieve at least 60% (Level 5) in English.
- Achieve at least 60% (Level 5) in Physical Sciences.
