The Foschini Group (TFG) is inviting applications for its YES Intern: Planner opportunity. This internship forms part of the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative and is ideal for graduates who want to start a career in retail planning within one of South Africa’s leading retail groups.

About the YES Planner Internship at TFG

This internship offers hands-on exposure to the retail planning environment, where interns work closely with experienced buying and planning teams. Participants gain practical insight into how data, trends and customer behaviour shape product decisions in a fast-paced retail business.

Key Responsibilities

The successful intern will support the planning team by analysing market trends, tracking customer insights and using sales data to inform decision-making. The role includes collaborating with buying teams on product selection, contributing fresh ideas to enhance product ranges and applying innovative thinking to improve planning outcomes. A strong willingness to learn and a proactive mindset are essential.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should hold a relevant diploma or degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or a related field. A clear interest in building a career as a Retail Planner is required.

Required Skills

Candidates must have strong analytical and research skills, excellent attention to detail and good interpersonal communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word, is essential. The ability to use new technology to improve productivity and problem-solving will be highly beneficial.
