Internship Conditions
- This internship programme is a once-off opportunity per qualification, in line with public service internship policy.
- Applicants who have previously participated in an internship programme within the public sector will not be eligible.
- The programme is committed to employment equity, with specific consideration given to the inclusion of people with disabilities.
HOW TO APPLY
Important Application Guidelines
To be considered for the GPT internship programme, applicants must follow these steps:

Complete the New Z83 Application Form:
Applications must be submitted using the latest Z83 form, which can be obtained from any Public Service Department or downloaded online. -
Submit a Detailed and Updated CV:
Your CV should include the names and contact details of 2–3 references, including email addresses and a description of your relationship to each referee. -
Email Your Application:
Submit your signed Z83 form and CV via email to the correct email address specified for each internship post. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully to avoid your application being disqualified.
Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be requested to submit certified copies of qualifications and other supporting documents before the interview date.
Additional Application Requirements
All shortlisted candidates will undergo Personnel Suitability Checks, which may include:
- Criminal record verification
- Citizenship and credit record checks
- Qualification and employment history verification
Final appointment will only be made after a positive security clearance has been received.
If you hold foreign qualifications, it is your responsibility to have them evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) before applying.
The Gauteng Provincial Treasury reserves the right to use practical assessments or tests as part of the selection process for certain non-SMS positions. Shortlisted candidates will be informed in advance if this applies to them.
