Teaching assistants

Teaching assistants are being recruited by the Basic Education department to work on 24 month contracts in 23 different districts. We have all the details so you can apply now.

There are 116 teaching assistant posts available in 23 different school districts to help young people gain critical skills and competencies and focus on on-the-job training.

Candidates must be unemployed, and also older than 18 and younger than 33, to qualify for this 24 month contract position.

The Basic Education Department in the Free State is accepting applications now and the closing date is the 15th November 2024 at 15:30.  Applications must be made on the Z83 form.

Applicants should have a relevant degree or diploma in the specified fields.

Applications may be emailed, hand delivered or sent via post. Indicate the Reference Number and Position you are applying for on the Application Form (Z83).

Note

  • Applications should be submitted on a completed new Z83 application form, which can be obtained from any Public Service Department and accompanied by a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Applicants are not required to submit copies of qualifications and other relevant documents with the applications. Only candidates who have been selected for interviews will be requested to submit the documents
