The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) is inviting applications for its Graduate Internship and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme for the 2025/2026 to 2026/2027 financial years.
This programme aims to provide unemployed graduates and WIL students with valuable workplace experience in their relevant fields of study.

Application Details:
• Closing Date: 29 August 2025, 15:00
• Applications must be submitted to:
– The Director-General, Department of Higher Education and Training, Private Bag X174, Pretoria, 0001
– Or hand deliver to: 123 Francis Baard Street (Cnr Sophie De Bruyn and Francis Baard Streets), Pretoria, Reception area
– Or email to: [email protected] (quote the Reference Number as per the advert)
How to Apply:
• Applications must be submitted using the new Z83 form, available on any Public Service Department website.
• Clearly state the field of study you are applying for.
• Include a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• All required documents and information must be submitted by the deadline, or the application will not be considered.
• If applying for more than one field of study, submit a separate Z83 form and supporting documents for each application.
Requirements:
• Must have satisfied the academic requirements for the advertised field of study.
• Must not have previously served as a Graduate Intern or contract worker in the Public Service.
• Must be unemployed and a South African citizen.
• Applicants with foreign qualifications must have them evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
• All appointments are subject to qualification verification, citizenship checks, reference checks, and security vetting.
• Applicants who participated in a DHET internship programme in the past will be disqualified.
