About the BASF Production Internship
This internship programme is designed to provide hands-on work experience in BASF’s production, maintenance, and technical services environment. As a Production Trainee, you will be part of a committed team responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient running of the production plant, while meeting the highest standards in safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
As a Production Trainee, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed effectively and on time.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment in accordance with OSH Act and EHSQ Policy.
- Supporting the Quality Management System and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Handling raw materials and finished products, including transportation using forklifts.
- Ensuring product quality approval from Quality Control before dispatch.
- Conducting regular plant inspections and adhering to shift checklists.
- Practicing excellent housekeeping and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Meeting monthly productivity improvement targets.
- Supporting production team members and performing additional assigned duties when required.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for this Production Internship at BASF, applicants must have:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
Either of the following:
- Completed NQF Level 2 theory for Chemical Operators, with practical training component outstanding,
- OR completed N6 in Chemical Engineering, requiring practical work-based experience.
