The Agricultural Research Council (ARC), under its Deciduous Fruit, Vines, and Wine Division, is offering an exciting internship opportunity for two dynamic and motivated graduates.
This internship is part of a project funded by the National Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) and aims to provide hands-on experience in agricultural research and development.

Internship Duties and Responsibilities
As an ARC intern, your tasks will include:
- Assisting with ongoing research projects and day-to-day operations

- Supervising temporary workers, when required
- Collecting, capturing, and analyzing research data
- Providing diagnostic support and contributing to research services
- Assisting with planting and the general maintenance of glasshouse and field experiments
- Complying with health, safety, and risk protocols
- Reporting progress and challenges to your supervisor regularly
Internship Requirements
To qualify for this internship programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A National Diploma in Agriculture, majoring in Crop Science, Soil Science, or Agronomy
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to perform physical fieldwork
- Previous experience with field trials is advantageous
- A strong desire to learn and develop within a research environment
