The South African National Defense Force (SANDF) is always looking for new recruits, so if you're interested in a career in defense, South Africa has a variety of institutions where you may get a qualification and receive training.

This is for you if you want to join the SANDF, but don't know where to begin. South Africa has institutions that provide defense-related certifications and training.

Institutions you can join to work for the SANDF:

  • South African Naval College
  • 68 Air School
  • South African Army Combat Training Centre
  • South African Military Health Services Training Formation

If you are looking for a qualification in defense, above are the options that offer more specific qualifications, depending on which field you're interested in. 

In order to be considered eligible for recruitment by the SANDF candidates must meet the requirements listed below.    

  • Be a South African Citizen. 
  • Age between 18 and 22 for graduates its up to 26. 
  • Currently busy National Senior Cert(Grade 12) or complete. 
  • Mathematic and Physical Science at level 4. 
  • Preferably Single. 
  • Not area bound. 
  • Not area bound. 
  • No record of a criminal offense. 
  • Comply with medical fitness requirements.
