A vision board refers to a collage of images and texts that are placed together to represent and assert your dreams and goals. The purpose of this is to help visualize and focus on one or more than one element of your desired goals. A vision board is the perfect tool to help layout your goals. The best way to achieve your goals is to keep them in mind, place all your ideas on your vision board and seek measurable ways to achieve them.

How to create a vision board?

#Create a list of your goals:

A vision board can include anything that inspires and motivates you. The purpose is to bring everything on the board to life. Identify and list all the goals you would like to achieve. Once you have identified your goals, determine exactly what you want your ideal life to look like, what you would need to accomplish and how long it would take to achieve all your goals.

#Find images that represent your goals and inspire you:

The next step is to take a couple of hours to go through the magazines/ newspapers and cut out pictures that represent your goals and speak to you in some significant way.

#Bringing your vision together:

Once you have collected enough pictures, it’s time to create your vision board. This step requires a lot of creativity and the main purpose is to create a vision that represents how you want to feel. Another helpful tip is to include words of affirmations to add a motivational dimension to your board.

Advantages of using a vision board:

  • Your dreams become more clearer
  • Your dreams become a reality
  • Visualization allows you to be creative
  • Makes you feel good about yourself and unleashes your inner potential
  • Boosts your self-confidence and improve your self-image
  • You naturally become motivated when you add onto your vision board
  • Allows you to re-evaluate your life as it gives you time to press pause and think about the direction you want your life to go

To get the full benefit from your vision board, it is important that you place it somewhere you can see it everyday. Take a few minutes of your time to look over your vision board at least once or twice a day to feel inspired and motivated.
