The healthcare field is a very competitive one, and to excel in it, you need to have a strong work ethic. If you're interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy, it's essential that you make the right connections with potential employers. The more connections you have, the better the chances are that you'll receive the job you want.

If you don't know anyone who works in physical therapy yet, finding someone who is currently employed in the field can help. Just be sure to be honest about any gaps in your resume — if they ask why you haven't had any experience working as a physical therapist, tell them that you're still finishing your education or that you don't have an internship or job offer to show for it.

Physical therapists work with patients to help them recover from injuries or illnesses, often by using exercises and physical therapy equipment to restore full function. A physical therapist's training is usually four years of post-secondary education, followed by an additional two years of supervised clinical experience in a hospital or other healthcare facility.

Physical therapists perform treatments such as massage therapy, corrective exercise, and electrotherapy.

In addition to its steady job growth, physical therapy has some other advantages. It's a high-demand field that combines the art and science of healing. Some employers may even offer bonuses for hiring experienced therapists.
