Optimi College offers three learning options for students: Distance learning, online learning and classroom learning.

Distance learning

Your couch is your classroom with Optimi College. When you study with Optimi College, you don’t need to attend face-to-face classes since you’re in control of where, when and what you study. This is called distance learning!
Optimi College delivers your study material to your door, and you can start studying immediately – registrations are open all year.

Distance learning saves you money since you don’t need to travel to classes, buy your own study material, or pay the much higher fees that a traditional university expects. You can also control your studies, meaning you can choose how many subjects or courses to take. If you have the time to study full-time, you can take the max amount, but if you’re studying while working, your studies can work around you.

Online learning

While distance learning offers you the flexibility to study at your own pace and time, research has shown that attending classes can help some students learn more effectively. The result of our online classes is that you build a bond with your lecturer and fellow students and feel more committed to your studies.

Classroom learning

Some courses require in-person classes to teach techniques and principles. Although these are in the minority at Optimi College, we do offer some courses with in-person classes at our Tygervalley campus in Bellville. These classes are kept small and are offered in the evenings and over weekends, staying true to the needs of our students. You can upskill without needing to attend classes during the workday with Optimi College (hosted by IT Academy).
