Uber is inviting applications for its Operations Internship Programme 2026 based in Johannesburg (Randburg). This opportunity is ideal for students who want to gain hands-on experience in operations, data analysis and business strategy within a global tech company.

About The Uber Internship Programme

The Operations Internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the core of Uber’s business, where teams focus on enabling the movement of people, food and goods. Interns will collaborate with Operations Managers and cross-functional teams across Uber’s Mobility and Delivery platforms.

This programme provides real-world experience through impactful projects, allowing interns to develop problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will gain exposure to a wide range of business functions and will:

Work on real-time projects that impact Uber’s operations and customer experience.

Analyse data sets to identify trends and support business decisions.

Develop innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Support strategic decision-making using analytical frameworks and insights.

Collaborate with teams across operations, finance, marketing, product, legal and customer support.

Contribute to initiatives such as pricing, demand generation, customer operations and market segmentation.

Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for the Uber Operations Internship, applicants must:

Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme for the full duration of the internship.

Be available to start on 6 July 2026 and work full-time for 6 months.

Have valid work authorisation in South Africa (no visa sponsorship available).

Be able to transition into a full-time role if an opportunity becomes available after the internship.

Preferred Skills And Competencies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Good planning and organisational abilities.

Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.

Ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders.

Teamwork and collaboration skills.

Knowledge of data analytics, SQL, Python or statistical tools will be advantageous.
