NEDLAC Internship Programme 2026: 8 Positions Available

The National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC) is inviting applications for its Internship Programme, offering 8 internship opportunities for graduates seeking workplace experience in South Africa.

This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical exposure in a professional environment while developing key administrative, reporting and coordination skills.

Internship Overview

Successful candidates will receive an all-inclusive annual package of R120 000 and will be placed in various units where they will gain hands-on experience across different functional areas.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including:

Performing entry-level administrative and operational duties within assigned units.

Handling correspondence, responding to enquiries and maintaining records and filing systems.

Providing support with budgeting coordination processes.

Assisting with information gathering for audit preparation.

Collecting and compiling data for monthly and quarterly reports.

Supporting supervisors and managers with delegated tasks.

Preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes.

Assisting with presentations, including preparing at least one presentation per quarter.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

A National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or Honours Degree in one of the following fields:

Public Administration

Journalism and Media Studies

Project Management

Public Relations

Business Management

Basic knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks, including:

Skills Development Act (SDA)

Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)

Tax legislation

Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE)

Employment Equity and Affirmative Action

A sound theoretical understanding of the relevant field of study.

Eligibility Criteria

Be a South African citizen under the age of 35 years.

Have a valid South African ID.

Hold a relevant post-matric qualification from a recognised higher education institution.
