The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) is offering a valuable Human Resource Management Internship Programme for unemployed graduates looking to gain practical work experience in the HR field. 

This is a great opportunity for young professionals to kick-start their careers within a national institution that supports the development of the arts sector.

Location: NAC Offices, Newtown, Johannesburg
Duration: 8 months
Application Deadline: 2 June 2025

Internship Overview

The NAC is committed to contributing to youth development through workplace training. This internship will provide the successful candidate with hands-on exposure to various aspects of Human Resources Management, including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance with South African labour legislation.

This opportunity aligns with the NAC’s commitment to employment equity. Therefore, preference may be given to candidates in line with the Employment Equity Act (EEA).

Who Should Apply?

To qualify for this HR internship, applicants must:

  •     Be between the ages of 21 and 35
  •     Be currently unemployed
  •     Have a National Diploma in Human Resource Management or a related field (minimum 3 years)
  •     A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field will be advantageous
  •     Have a basic understanding of South African labour legislation
  •     Be willing to sign an internship agreement upon acceptance

  •     A detailed cover letter
  •     Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  •     Certified copy of ID
  •     Certified copies of academic qualifications
