iStore South Africa is offering a 12-month paid Technical Support Internship programme for young people interested in building a career in technology and customer support.

The internship provides hands-on experience working with Apple products and technology solutions within iStore retail stores across South Africa.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who are passionate about technology, enjoy helping customers and want to gain practical IT support experience in a fast-paced retail environment.

About The iStore Technical Support Internship

The internship programme allows successful candidates to work closely with experienced technical support teams while assisting customers with Apple devices and other technology-related queries.

During the first six weeks of the programme, interns will rotate through various departments and business areas to gain exposure to:

  • Technical support operations
  • Customer experience
  • Retail systems
  • Business operations

Interns must be willing to travel between stores when operational support is needed.

The internship is a fixed-term 12-month paid contract.

Duties And Responsibilities

As part of the in-store technical support team, interns will:

  • Assist customers with technical queries related to phones, laptops, tablets and accessories
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues
  • Help customers understand and use their devices effectively
  • Provide professional customer support in-store and telephonically
  • Escalate complex technical issues when necessary
  • Maintain accurate repair and customer records
  • Work closely with technical specialists and store teams
  • Participate in structured training programmes
  • Travel between stores if required
  • Work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays 


iStore Internship Requirements

Applicants interested in the internship must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Completed Matric
  • Completed A+ and N+ qualifications
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software
  • Familiarity with Windows and macOS operating systems
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good customer service abilities
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Willingness to work retail hours
  • Willingness to travel between stores
  • Passion for technology and customer support
