Flyfofa Aviation Training and the National Skills Fund are offering a Bursary to study towards becoming a Drone Pilot with the official Remote Pilot Certificate.

This 12 week course is available for Gauteng residents only and includes full time training, accommodation and a monthly stipend.

This comprehensive course coves everything you need to know to become a certified drone pilot. We'll teach you about drone regulations, safe flying practices and how drones operate. The course will include all theoretical practicals, internal and external SACAA exams as per the SACAA regulations for one to finally obtain their Remote Pilot Certificate.

You will get hands-on experience: You'll practice flying drones in a safe environment with out experience instructors. Once you complete the training it will be your time to demonstrate your knowledge and drone flying skills to a qualified examiner to earn your certificate.

Entry Requirements

Must be South African citizen
Minimum age of 18 years to 23 years of age
Must be residing in Gauteng province
Must have matriculated in Gauteng province at a quintile 1-3 school only
Must have obtained Level 5 in English
Must have obtained Level 4 in Mathematics or Level 5 in Mathematics Literacy
Must be willing to undergo an Aviation Medical Examination
Good communication, judgement and decision-making skills
Candidates must have the ability to multitask and have great hand to eye co-ordination
Candidates must be technically and safety orientate and culturally sensitive

Who Can Apply?

Only South African citizens and all race groups residing in the Gauteng province
Only learners who attended high school at quintile 1, 2 or 3 schools in the Gauteng province - OR be a SASSA child grant recipient

 

HOW TO APPLY

  • Copy of a valid South African ID
  • Proof of residence
  • Copy of Grade 12 Certificate/Statement of results
