The Strategy & Transactions (S&T) team within Africa Consulting Services (ACS) partners with organisations to solve complex business challenges, unlock growth opportunities, and drive long-term value. From shaping future strategies to supporting critical investment decisions, the team works at the intersection of strategy, finance, and transformation, helping clients navigate change with confidence. 

The S&T VAC Programme provides exposure to three core teams within Strategy & Transactions: 

  1. Strategy & Business Design 

This team focuses on shaping an organisation’s future direction and designing how it will operate to achieve its ambitions. Through advisory and consulting support, they help clients design their businesses and unlock their full future potential. 

  1. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) 

The M&A team helps clients grow, restructure, and optimise their portfolios through strategic transactions. They deliver value-added support across the M&A lifecycle, enabling buyers, sellers, and investors to maximise returns. 

  1. Valuations & Modelling 

This team provides the analytical and financial insight needed to support critical business decisions. Many assets are complex to evaluate, from intangible assets such as brands to factors like carbon footprints within supply chains, making their expertise essential.

What is the ACS S&T vac programme about?

The Africa Consulting Services (ACS) Strategy & Transactions (S&T) vacation programme offers university students an exceptional opportunity to experience what distinguishes Deloitte, whilst enabling us to connect with emerging talent.

  • You will gain insight into the diverse teams that underpin our multidisciplinary approach and explore the career advancement opportunities available within these specialisms.
  • You will participate in structured learning sessions designed to equip you with essential tools and skills for transitioning successfully from university to professional practice.
  • You will have direct access to engage with key business stakeholders across the Deloitte organisation.

Qualifications

What are the minimum requirements?

To be eligible for the ACS Strategy & Transactions vacation programme, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Level: You must be in your penultimate year of study, graduating in 2027, pursuing either an Undergraduate Bachelor's degree or a Postgraduate qualification at an accredited university.
  • Field of Study: Your degree must specialise in one of the following disciplines: Investment Management, Finance, Accounting or any similar discipline.
  • Academic Performance: You must have achieved a pass mark of 65% or above in all subjects at Matric (Grade 12).
  • Mathematics Requirement: You must have completed Pure Mathematics at Matric level.
  • Experience: No prior professional experience is required.
