Barloworld Is Recruiting Apprentice Technicians

Applications are now open for the Barloworld Apprentice Programme, offering hands-on training and practical experience in heavy earthmoving equipment. This apprenticeship provides an excellent pathway into a technical career, with opportunities to learn from industry experts while gaining valuable workplace skills.

Main Responsibilities

As an apprentice, you will:

• Inspect and assess heavy earthmoving machinery
• Carry out basic troubleshooting, testing, maintenance and repairs
• Remove and install components in the workshop or at customer sites
• Request and manage parts needed for repairs
• Handle your own administrative tasks, including service reports, labour bookings, parts returns and expenses
• Prepare accurate customer machine assessments, including Machine Inspection Reports (MIR)

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this apprenticeship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Grade 12 or N3 with Pure Mathematics (minimum 45%)
• Grade 12 English (minimum 45%)
• Grade 12 or N3 Physical Science (minimum 45%)
• N2/N3 with relevant theory is an advantage – Motor/Diesel Theory and/or Electrical/Electronic Theory
• Technicians for The World certificate is beneficial
• Code B learner’s licence for a light motor vehicle is an added advantage
