Scholarships are offered to students based on outstanding academic achievements, or because they have met all requirements set out by the scholarship sponsor. Scholarships will cover expenses such as tuition, textbooks and uniform with the possibility of a stipend.
Scholarships do not need to be paid back, as the scholarship was obtained due to the student meeting a certain set of requirements set out by the scholarship sponsor.
Here are the scholarships available to primary and high school students:
Students For A Better Future (SBF)
SBF Scholarships cover tuition fees and provide an allowance for uniforms, books, stationery, sports equipment and school trips. They also contribute to transport costs and place some scholars in boarding houses at certain schools.
This scholarship is offered to students who are currently in Grade 6 and have a minimum of 70% in Mathematics and English.
This scholarship is offered to applicants who are going into Grade 10, 11 or 12. This initiative is aimed at supporting learners from the township and rural schools, who show good academic potential, particularly in the fields of Maths and Science, to attend top-performing high schools.
The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation targets financially constrained Grade 6 learners who have significant entrepreneurial potential. These learners need to have a minimum of 70% pass rate.
The scholarship covers stationery and books, a monthly allowance, toiletries, uniforms, support for extra murals and tuition.
The African Scholars Fund offers to fund high school students who attend schools that are lacking in resources and funding. They operate with schools from the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape.
Students need to have an average mark of 50%, with a monthly household income that does not exceed R7500. The student will also need to be or will be 21 years or younger in their matric year.
The money will be paid in two instalments by the fund which will also pay for tuition, uniform and stationery items.
Curro school offers 4 different scholarships which are aimed at ensuring affordable school fees for our learners.
The 4 scholarships are:
- Ruta Sechaba Foundation scholarship
- Provides monitored financial support for education purposes to black South African citizens
- KFC scholarship programme (For KFC employees and Add Hope beneficiaries only)
- Provides employees at KFC the opportunity to give their children a head start in life at a Curro school.
- Capitec Bank scholarship programme
- Provides employees at Capitec Bank and Mercantile Bank the opportunity to give their children a head start in life at one of their schools.

- Curro schools offer bursaries allocated at the discretion of the school’s Executive Hea
