On Thursday evening, President Cyril Ramaphosa presented the annual State Of the Nation Address and spoke about key issues plaguing South Africa. South Africa struggles with a rising youth unemployment rate and the lack of skills development that prevents the youth from successfully securing a job. 

In the past two years, Higher Education has seen growth in the number of enrolments in the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. This sector trains individuals in skills that are much needed in the country. The department has announced its plans on how it aims to meet the high demand for skills and supply of a much more skilled labour force.

After doing your matric, you might want to study at one of the 50 TVET colleges in South Africa. Funding should not be an issue as there is funding available at these institutions.

NSFAS has sent a communication to all TVET Colleges which state the advised application dates for 2022.
