It is usually a one-year full-time programmes, although some programmes may be offered part-time over two years.
In South Africa, an Honours degree is recognised as a postgraduate qualification, and is often a prerequisite for admission to a Master's degree programme. It is also valued by employers as evidence of advanced knowledge and skills in a particular field.
