Volkswagen Group Africa Bursary 2026 – Apply Now

Volkswagen Group Africa (VWGA) is committed to supporting youth development and addressing South Africa’s skills shortage. As part of this commitment, VWGA is offering a limited number of comprehensive bursaries for the 2026 academic year. These bursaries will be awarded to deserving students who are studying full-time at accredited tertiary institutions in South Africa.

What the VWGA Bursary Covers

  • Full tuition and registration fees
  • Accommodation, meals, books, and stationery
  • Provision of a laptop for study purposes
  • Vacation work opportunities
  • Mentorship, development, and additional study support where required

Obligations

Successful candidates will be required to complete a work-back obligation with VWGA for every year of bursary funding received. If you fail to meet this requirement, or if you are found not to be studying full-time, the bursary contract may be terminated, and you will be required to repay the full value of the benefits received.

Who Can Apply?

The bursary is open to candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizens registered for full-time studies in 2027 at a DHET/CHE-accredited tertiary institution
  • Open to undergraduate students only (not available for Master’s or Doctoral studies)
  • Strong academic performance:
    • Grade 12: Bachelor’s Pass with a minimum average of 70%
    • Tertiary level: Minimum average of 65%
  • Fields of study supported include:
    • Engineering: Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering
    • Marketing: BCom Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing & Communication
    • Quality / Polymer Technology
    • Logistics & Supply Chain Management / BCom Logistics & Transport
    • Finance: BCom Finance, Accounting Science
    • BCom Strategy Development / Strategy Management
  • Applicants may be required to undergo screening, interviews, and psychometric assessments
  • Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups, in line with VWGA’s transformation objectives
