The debut ‘UCT Online High School Learning Liberated Scholarship Programme’ launched on 31 July 2023 to invest in the education of talented learners from economically disadvantaged families, who demonstrated academic potential, had aspirations for tertiary education, and the intent to make a positive and impactful contribution to the nation.


The UCT Online High School has launched a new and improved Learning Liberated Scholarship Programme with the goal of investing in the education of talented learners from economically disadvantaged families. When these learners demonstrate academic potential, have aspirations for tertiary education, and the intent to make a positive and impactful contribution to the nation, they are good candidates to apply.


Approximately 31% of South Africans are not qualified for further and higher education - this excludes them from a wide range of skilled and professional areas of employment. In a country with a 32.1% national unemployment rate - this education crisis is clear. 


With learning innovation at the forefront - harnessing behavioural science and rewards in education has proven to improve learner engagement and progression. "We are thrilled to announce that our incredible Reward partners have secured rewards exceeding 4 Million rands for the year 2024, promising an exciting and rewarding journey ahead!", said Grant Ruskovich, Chief Partnerships Officer.
