Millions of vulnerable individuals rely on social grant payments each month. Postbank has confirmed that all beneficiaries of the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) social grants that were affected by the recent technical glitch have been paid.


While many students apply for the comprehensive bursaries provided by NSFAS, not everyone who submits an application is successful. The bursary scheme rejects thousands of funding applications every year from students who do not meet the NSFAS eligibility criteria.


Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande insists the National Student Financial Aid Scheme is not in crisis despite the many challenges it experiences. The bursary scheme has received tons of backlash from students and stakeholders for funding failures.
