Matric Results

Matrics are used to having to wait only a few days after New Year to hear their exam results but things for the class of 2020 are going to be very different to the Matric classes that went before them. A revised school calendar has been released which details the dates that exams will be written, but also shows that Matrics will be waiting longer than usual to get their exam results.

More than 1 million learners are expected to write the matric exams at the end of the year, according to plans being prepared by the Basic Education department. Despite the disruptions the Department is still hoping to run matric exams before the end of the year with final exams going well into December.

National Education Minister Angie Motshekga was very happy to announce that the annual Matric exam pass rate has gone up to 81.3%

Although the focus is firmly on the Matric Class of 2019 currently writing their NSC exams, their successors in Grade 11 are also now heading to exam rooms across the nation,

The National Senior Certificate exams countdown clock on the Department of Basic Education’s website shows that the Class of 2019 will sit down to their last school exams in about 60 days.
