Portal Publishing is looking for part-time writers to work on their portfolio of leading websites that are helping young South Africans make smart choices about education, training and employment.

You will need to be organised, methodical while at the same time possessing a creative bent and the desire to express yourself via the written word.

You should have excellent results in English at Matric level, as well as related subjects.

Suitable candidates should be very comfortable using the internet for research purposes - via laptop and mobile devices.

The position requires remote working while remaining in contact with the Portal Publishing newsroom at our head office in Cape Town.

Writing tasks will be allocated via our editors in Cape Town and you will be responsible for researching online and completing the articles on our content platform, before submitting for editorial approval.  Story ideas from our writers are always welcome.

The position is part-time and we are especially interested in young people who are currently studying. This is an ongoing opportunity with flexible working hours to accommodate students who have study requirements. Remuneration is at competitive rates based on experience and qualifications.

Previous experience with writing would be an advantage but is not essential if your enthusiasm for this position shines through.

To apply please send a short motivational letter, and a copy of your Matric certificate, to [email protected] explaining why you would like the position and why you think the work of the Portal Publishing websites is important.
