A NSFAS learning material allowance is an amount of money that is paid out to students who are enrolled in public universities or TVET College by the National Student Financial Scheme. This is an amount that is paid to students who qualify for funding by NSFAS.
According to the Department of Higher Education, the allowance for all students receiving the learning material allowance remains at R5 200. The allowance can be used to buy electronic devices to support their studies, in line with the applicable university policies and schemes.
