NSFAS cash vouchers are used by students who use NSFAS Wallet.
NSFAS cash vouchers are issued as a form of financial aid to students who qualify for NSFAS funding, but who are unable to receive their full funding allocation in the form of a direct deposit into their bank account due to administrative or technical issues. In such cases, NSFAS may issue a cash voucher to the student, which can be redeemed for cash at a participating retailer.
The cash voucher is usually a one-time payment made to the student, and the amount is determined based on the student's financial need and their NSFAS funding allocation. The voucher can be used to cover expenses related to the student's education, such as tuition fees, textbooks, and accommodation.
It is important to note that NSFAS cash vouchers can only be used at participating retailers, and they cannot be exchanged for cash or used to purchase items that are not related to the student's education. Additionally, students must use the voucher within the specified period, as the voucher may expire if it is not used before the expiration date.
NSFAS Wallet is used by TVET College students who are funded by NSFAS and is where their allowances are located.
A NSFAS cash voucher has to be created for students to withdraw cash from their NSFAS Wallet.
