- Be South African citizen
- Be in possession of a matriculation certificate with a pass indicating acceptance at a university
- Have proof that you have registered and been accepted at a South African tertiary institution
- Grade 12 pass mark of 75% in Mathematics, Physical Science and English - and a 75% average
- The course of study must be focused on STEM related courses
