GrandWest Bursary Programme 2026: Applications Now Open

The GrandWest Bursary Programme is officially open for applications, offering financial support to eligible undergraduate students studying at selected universities in the Western Cape. This bursary is aimed at students pursuing careers in high-demand fields linked to economic growth and skills development.

Fields of Study Covered by the GrandWest Bursary

The GrandWest bursary is available to students studying towards qualifications in the following career paths:

• Tourism and Hospitality
• Information Technology
• Agriculture
• Entrepreneurship
• Human Resources
• Marketing
• Finance
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the GrandWest Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Be enrolled in full-time undergraduate studies
• Be a resident of the Western Cape
• Have matriculated in South Africa
• Be registered at one of the following institutions:
  – University of the Western Cape (UWC)
  – Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)
  – University of Cape Town (UCT)
  – Stellenbosch University
• Be studying towards one of the listed fields of study

Applicants living with an impairment or disability are strongly encouraged to apply. This includes, but is not limited to, conditions such as dyslexia, diabetes (Type 1), epilepsy, and sight or hearing impairments.

Important Information for Applicants

The bursary is available only to students who are currently in their undergraduate studies. Eligible students are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Application Closing Date

Applications for the GrandWest Bursary Programme close on 15 January 2026.

This bursary opportunity provides valuable financial assistance to students in the Western Cape who are working towards careers in key sectors of the South African economy.
