If you've applied to the Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant during this reinstatement and would like to know when you'll be receiving payment, keep reading to find out what we know so far.

Beneficiaries can expect the first R350 grant payments to be made in the last week of August. Payments will be made from August until March 2022.

As for when the payment date is, SASSA has repeatedly made it clear that the R350 grant does not have a set payment date. Instead, they aim to pay applicants as soon as they have been approved and verified.

For faster payments to occur, SASSA is urging applicants to provide banking details upfront if they have a bank account.

If you do not have a bank account, you will then be able to fetch your grant money from a Post Office or a Bank Mobile Money Transfers (cash send).

The R350 grant is specifically for people who lost employment due to the pandemic.
