The University of Kwazulu-Natal have finalised their decisions concerning how they will respond to Covid-19 as an institution. They have then decided to commence with their break early. 


Vaal University of Technology Extended ManCon met this morning to discuss a plan of action concerning the coronavirus. This lead to an announcement of the suspension of classes. 


UJ, as part of precautionery measures against Covid-19, has decided to suspend their classes.


Postponement of contact classes and rescheduling of the academic calendar has been annnounced at UP. 


Mandela University to suspend academic activities and major events until further notice. 


Unizulu has suspended their classes and any mass gathering after the President's address concerning the coronavirus national disaster, as he defines it. 


Stellenbosch University is joining the list of Universities being shut down by the coronavirus. The institution has issued a stetement on the decision to close down campus. 


The Acting Rector and Vice-Chancellor​ of the University of Western Cape has released a statement on University operations as the Coronavirus grows in South Africa. Students have been awaiting news on whether the University will close or not, following other University closures in the country.


Tertiary institutions across the country have experienced weeks of disruption. Some have resumed teaching. A month after universities and TVET colleges started the 2020 academic year, protests at various institutions across the country have led to the suspension of numerous classes, while some institutions have resumed teaching.
