Minister of Higher Education, Blade Nzimande, announced that NSFAS will not be taking late applications from students wanting to be funded for the 2021 academic year.

The Acting Rector and Vice-Chancellor​ of the University of Western Cape has released a statement on University operations as the Coronavirus grows in South Africa. Students have been awaiting news on whether the University will close or not, following other University closures in the country.
