Are you a Unisa student and need some help during your examinations? Well, Unisa offers a service to students like you. You can get help during the examinations by contacting the Student Communication Service Centre.


Unisa has received a generous donation and has said that this will be used to secure laptops for students. There are about 150 000 Unisa students who do not have access to laptops and therefore cannot participate in an at home online learning programme.


Unisa is giving students more time to finish their work and hand in assignments. Unisa has recently had issues with the relase of their online exam results but have since said that most of the Unisa student body has received their results. 


Unisa is in the process of delivering results to students but have not been as efficient as they would have hoped. The University has completed their online examination period and students now await their results as they see the start of their second semester. 


Due to technical glitches and postponements that have happened, Unisa is working on a solution for students who could not write their exams in the past two weeks. They have also made a further announcement concerning exam dates.

Unisa has announced that it will have no venue-based exams and that alternative assessments will take place. With the examination period fast approaching, how is it going to work?


Unisa is set to commence their May/June examination period soon. The University has announced the release of the examination timetables for students. 


Unisa's Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Makhanya, spoke to The Talking Point and discussed how Unisa is going to carry out their examinations during lockdown. He also spoke on the use of an app and the procedures of submitting exam papers.


Unisa has released a statement to clarify that the May/June 2020 examination period is to continue using alternative assessment formats. No venue-based examinations will be written during this time.


Unisa has an open applications policy, but students should always ensure that the qualifications for which they wish to apply are not oversubscribed for that particular semester or year.


Unisa has released a statement on the effect Covid-19 has on student's receiving their study materials. 


Unisa has shut down it's campuses due to Covid-19 and therefore, the library is shut down as well. Students can however access the library online.
