UCT is the University of Cape Town, the oldest university in South Africa and the mostly highly ranked in international surveys. The University of Cape Town recently released a statement that its council approved, in principle, a compulsory vaccination policy. The institution becomes the first university to move towards instructed vaccination in order to access its campuses.  

While other higher learning institutions remain unclear about their position on whether vaccination of students and staff is a personal choice, UCT has taken a step forward.
