After the President's announcement, we've all been waiting to hear how students will be affected. Now, the Minister of Higher Education has announced that TVET students will return from July using a rotational timetable.

A study done by the Human Sciences Research Council showed that TVET College students suffered immensely when the country was placed under heavy lockdown. The lockdown saw students forced to stay at home and adjust to online learning.

The Department of Higher Education has proposed to not have tuition and residence fees be increased in 2021. Some students at Universities were also reported to not have received data and laptops for online learning to run smoothly.

As we see the return of TVET College students to students, it has been announced that not all TVET Colleges will reopen as they are not readily equipped.

Buti Manamela spoke on Radio 702 about how to save the academic year while also saving lives. He also spoke on TVET Colleges as they get ready to welcome students back in a week.
