As the number of applications for Phase two of the Basic Education Employment Initiative continues to rise, the Basic Education Department has introduced an alternative method of application for applicants that are yet to submit their applications.


The Department of Basic Education is calling on all unemployed youth to apply for teaching assistant and general school assistant vacancies. 


The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has come out to distance themselves from a recent social media post for teaching assistants. The department said the advert is fake and further developments about teaching assistants would be communicated through relevant platforms.


Teacher assistants may not make headline news but they play a vital role in ensuring stability in our schools such as managing challenging pupil behaviour and carrying out other administrative duties.
