Sexual offences in schools have fast become a common trend among teachers who take advantage of learners. The South African Council for Educators (SACE) shared a shocking list of misconducts within the basic education sector on Wednesday. 


The Department of Basic Education (DBE) continues to reiterate the importance of teaching children about sex as it was adopted in the curriculum as Life Orientation subject in the year 2000. The DBE says more needs to be done as the department faces the crisis of learner pregnancy in schools. 


The Department of Basic Education will be providing condoms to learners at schools. This comes after high rates of pregnancy in young girls was reported.
