SASSA reopening


The South African Social Security Agency is warning beneficiaries and applicants against providing their personal information to fraudsters posing as SASSA and offering fake grants to vulnerable citizens. 


SASSA has assured beneficiaries for the Special Relief of Distress grant that payments will continue for the R350 grant even though the grant has come to an end. The SRD grant came to an end in April.


Now that applications for the R350 grant has closed and many calls have come for it to be extended, vulnerable South Africans are being taken advantage of. A message spread that SASSA has approved R700 payments which they have now clarified.
