We know you've got plenty of SASSA related questions and we are here to bring you all the answers. Some good news, SASSA recently announced that grants will be paid out every month until March 2022. 


We've been hearing talks about Government introducing a basic income grant for months now but has anything solid been said yet? Social Development Minister, Lindiwe Zulu, has already addressed the possibility of the grant.


The South African Social Security Agency, what we know as SASSA, administers various kinds of grants to vulnerable South Africans. Many citizens in the country depend on these grants for their livelihoods.


After the recent overcrowding at SASSA paypoints, the agency has urged beneficiaries to kindly visit their nearest paypoints when collecting various social grants. Beneficiaries are encouraged to do so as the country is experiencing the third wave of COVID-19.


SASSA has recently decided to designate certain days for specific grant payments, scroll down to find out why they have enforced this new system. 


SASSA has allocated billions of rands towards social grants for the 2021/22 financial year. Almost 100% of the department's budget goes to SASSA and the monthly payment of grants.


The R350 grant will be coming to an end at the end of April. The Black Sash has called on government to not put an end to the grant. 


To avoid fraud, SASSA considers a random selection of applications each month to do internal verification and quality assurance. Once the process is completed the applicants who qualify will be processed, whereas others will be 'referred' or declined.


Did you know that if SASSA rejected you when you applied to benefit from the R350 grant, you can appeal and possibly be funded? However, if you don't appeal, you won't get a second chance due to a lack of funds.


Due to SASSA beneficiaries having to wait in long queues for their Special COVID-19 SRD grants, the South African Post Office has decided to implement a system to decrease the waiting time for these beneficiaries.


After SASSA's Temporary Disability Grant lapsed on 31 December 2020, beneficiaries of this grant have been told to re-apply for 2021. Keep reading to find out how to do so.
