SAICA


Zezethu Giyose has come a long way from the small village Tamara in the Eastern Cape where she grew up. Today, the young accountant is employed by the Eastcape Midlands College where she assists in the Quality Management Systems and Internal Audit Office work thanks to an opportunity she received from AT(SA). Her inspiring story is shared below. 


Chartered Accountants and aspiring Chartered Accountants will be hearing about SAICA throughout their career. During a chat with Teboho Moephudi from SAICA, we found out exactly who SAICA are and what they do.


Although the journey to becoming a Chartered Accountant is long, it is an occupation which can land you a job in any industry. Teboho Moephudi from SAICA gave us some insight into why Chartered Accountants are important in South Africa.


Teboho Moephudi, had a chat with Careers Portal to talk about who SAICA are, their Thuthuka Bursary and why Chartered Accountants are so important in South Africa. Thuthuka bursary applications are now open for 2022.


The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) is a professional accounting body that was established in 1984. SAICA is widely recognised and one of the leading accounting institutes. The main aim is to provide support, guidance and services to all chartered accountant’s throughout their professional lives. SAICA is responsible for monitoring the programmes that lead to the qualification of Chartered Accountants in South Africa.


The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) has announced that Accounting students will have their exam postponed. This would now delay when they will have their goal of becoming a Chartered Accountant achieved.


Higher Education and Training Minister Naledi Pandor says the department will spend R934 million on the University Capacity Development Programme (UCDP) to improve student development and decolonise the curriculum.
