Answering questions about the NSFAS laptop, NSFAS has said that it does not come with training and what would happen instead. They also gave insight into what you should do after you receive one.


A few months ago, we finally saw moves being made for students to order NSFAS laptops which were promised to them last year. Now, NSFAS is said to have more than 90 000 laptops ready for delivery.


NSFAS has only received 15 000 orders for NSFAS laptops. They do however expect for this number to increase as more students receive laptops. NSFAS was initially supposed to start delivering laptops in April.


Across higher education institutions, we've seen laptops being distributed to students to make online learning more accessible and NSFAS has also promised to deliver laptops to beneficiaries. However, will Unisa students get laptops from NSFAS as well? Here's what we know.


NSFAS is now urging beneficiaries to order their laptops online as they begin the rollout of devices which was promised in early 2020. This is to help students gain access to online learning.


The Minister in charge of Higher Education, Blade Nzimande, has said that work is being done to patch up the holes when it comes to students across South Africa accessing online learning. This includes NSFAS laptops and connectivity issues.


Higher Education Minister, Blade Nzimande, gave updates on NSFAS laptops, NSFAS allowances and funding, Unisa and many other topics which are currently being discussed in Higher Education. This is in response to a list of demands submitted to the Minister by the South African Union of Students.


Minister of Higher Education, Blade Nzimande, has said that they expect NSFAS to start delivering laptops in March. The Department is also working to make data more accessible to students.


We've all been wondering about how far NSFAS is with providing students with laptops and I'm sure many have even given up hope. However, NSFAS is officially one step closer and the laptops are even closer to being delivered.


NSFAS to visit the campus this week to respond to students’ concerns. Students were protesting outside Ingwe TVET college’s Ngqungqushe campus in Lusikisiki on Monday over their National Student Financial Aid Scheme allowances. They accused the principal of withholding their NSFAS allowance money.

NSFAS has now issued a new tender for the supplier of laptops they promised to students. However, NSFAS has now edited their specifications for this laptops after having to settle with budget cuts. Students will however still have to wait a little while before they can have the laptops in their hands.
