We've all been wondering about how far NSFAS is with providing students with laptops and I'm sure many have even given up hope. However, NSFAS is officially one step closer and the laptops are even closer to being delivered.

Many students do not have the resources to participate in an online programme in a way that would have their learning be on track. With a government that mutters 'no student left behind', students have had to deal with the same issues they brought to government's attention months ago.

NSFAS to visit the campus this week to respond to students’ concerns. Students were protesting outside Ingwe TVET college’s Ngqungqushe campus in Lusikisiki on Monday over their National Student Financial Aid Scheme allowances. They accused the principal of withholding their NSFAS allowance money.

NSFAS has now issued a new tender for the supplier of laptops they promised to students. However, NSFAS has now edited their specifications for this laptops after having to settle with budget cuts. Students will however still have to wait a little while before they can have the laptops in their hands.

Minister Nzimande got fired up in his latest media briefing when discussing the allegations of corruption surrounding the process of getting devices for NSFAS students. He then went on to discuss how they aim to make sure that no corruption takes place and that they will not forget that the main aim is to get devices to students.

Parliament expressed concern that students still have not received the laptops they were promised by Government and that this could also be involved with an alleged interference in the process. However, NSFAS has responded to the concerns shown and laid out what they've been doing.
