NSFAS is currently preparing for applications for 2021 as the time comes closer. NSFAS Administrator, Randall Carolissen, previously said that applications will open on 1 August. Usually, applications open in September but should they open earlier, this would come as an advantage as an increase in demand is expected. 

With the academic year most likely being extended, this will see Government give billions towards NSFAS. NSFAS has also stated that changes will be made to processes such as allowances and admissions.

NSFAS has addressed students having issues viewing their application statuses for 2020. 

Applications for the National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) funding is now open for all TVET College students registering for Trimester 2 (T2).

NSFAS' Administrator provided updates on where the organisation is at with providing students with devices to access online learning. Carolissen has given an estimate on when these processes of procurement will be completed as well. 

NSFAS has made an announcement for TVET College students concerning their student allowances. 

Minister Nzimande has made it clear that the academic year will be extended into 2021 which will see NSFAS require billions of rands to fund students, as they have promised. 

NSFAS has received complaints about requests and questions not being answered. They have now responded and have also provided guidance in terms of how to access NSFAS Wallet accounts.
